Description
The Department of Government at Georgetown University invites applications for a three-year renewable, full-time non-tenure line position to begin in August 2025.

The teaching load is 2:3 (two courses one semester, three the other), with teaching responsibilities at both the undergraduate and graduate level. Additional administrative responsibilities include maintenance and oversight of Department's undergraduate course offerings, assisting in planning the academic schedule, conducting major declaration sessions for all new majors, advising and mentoring majors, ensuring that all graduation requirements are completed, planning and attending open houses for admitted students on behalf of the Department, evaluation of transfer credits for incoming majors, supervising and handling Department majors' study abroad requests, and liaising with faculty and staff inside and outside of the department.

The subfield of political science and area of specialization are open. We will be especially receptive to persons who focus on: 1) ethics and human rights; 2) quantitative methods; 3) Asian-American politics.


Qualifications
A Ph.D. in political science is required prior to appointment start date. Candidates must show strong promise of excellence in teaching, as well as familiarity with university administration.

The projected base salary range is $73,576 - 85,000. Compensation is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's individual qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the University's business needs and external factors.
