The Department of Medicine at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for several Assistant Professor positions in the tenure track. Applicants must have an MD or PhD or MD/PhD degrees. ABIM board certified/eligible in Internal Medicine or its specialties is required.
Teaching responsibilities may include teaching students, residents, and fellows while engaged in clinical activities and/or serving as lecturer for divisional and/or school educational programs.
Clinical responsibilities may include working in the outpatient clinics and as an attending on the inpatient service within the Health System and VA Medical Center (PVAMC).
Research or scholarship responsibilities may include any aspect of basic science, clinical, health policy, or health services research. The successful candidate should demonstrate a productive track record during post-doctoral research training with an ability to perform collaborative interdisciplinary science. As a new faculty member, the successful applicant will be expected to establish an innovative, independent research program that will attract and maintain extramural funding from government agencies, private foundations, and industry.
Selected applicants will hold an academic appointment in the Department of Medicine within the division(s) of his/her specialty.
