Job Description
This position oversees recruitment and admissions for all undergraduate and graduate programs within the College of Nursing. Responsibilities include managing the application process, developing and executing recruitment strategies, and ensuring timely communication with prospective students. The role involves collaborating with the Director and stakeholders to plan recruitment events, develop marketing materials, and implement clear admissions processes. Additionally, this position oversees the on-boarding and training of new staff, maintains up-to-date promotional materials, and provides ongoing support to prospective students throughout the admissions process.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the ongoing processing of applications to ensure a timely response
- Collaborate with the Director and other key stakeholders to develop, execute, and assess recruitment outreach plans
- Plan and execute activities and special events designed to enhance enrollment, including on-campus visits, visit days, and orientation events
- Plan and execute services to support prospective students (e.g., drop-in advising, creating academic plans, etc.)
- Develop resources and/or services that provide information to prospective students on the application process, admissions criteria, funding options, etc.
- Manage applicant pool, utilizing campus administrative software and ongoing strategic communication, including in-person appointments, phone calls, direct mail, email, and social media, all in an effort to encourage an application for admission and ultimately enrollment.
- Review prospective student applications and make independent decisions on each applicant to determine admission and/or consult with the appropriate stakeholder to render a final admission decision.
- Engage in consistent prospect follow-up or redirect to the appropriate role for additional support
- Maintain a clear understanding and support of the nature of the institution/college/program and communicate this to prospective students, parents, guidance counselors and other constituents.
- Oversee the recruitment, on-boarding, and training of Nursing Student Ambassadors
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Master's degree in related field or enrolled in a Master's degree program
- 3+ years of directly related work experience
- Experience in academic advising, admissions, recruitment or a related field
- Experience in public speaking or presenting to large groups
Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent oral and written communication.
- Demonstrated ability to successfully navigate change.
- Administrative and organizational skills.
- Ability to complete simultaneous projects.
- Evidence of team building skills that foster collaboration and ability to interact with a broad base of individuals (administration, faculty, staff, clinical partners, students, etc.)
- Computer literacy and strong skills with digital literacy tools.
- Willingness to learn new systems, programs, skills and other information.
Work Location: Knoxville, TN - onsite
Compensation and Benefits:
- UT market range: MR08
- Anticipated hiring range: $54,000 - $56,000
